Managing all your Twitter friends can be a real chore, if you let it get out of hand.
One great way of keeping track of things on Twitter is by organizing your friends by category and placing them into lists. Perhaps it’s best to think of a list as a ‘grouping’ or ‘group.’
The great thing about lists is that you don’t have to follow someone to put them in a list. This means you can keep track of all the people too prolific, or too specific, for your home feed.
To create a twitter list just open the drop-box on the right sidebar, and click “create new list.” Give the lists a name and select if the list will be public or private.

Don’t waste twitter space pasting whole links into your messages — econ.omize!
You can say a lot with only 140 characters, but you don’t want to be wasting valuable space on links, so what can you do?
Luckily, shortening URLs using bit.ly is the easiest thing in the world to do. And as an added bonus, it keeps track of how many people actually clicked your link, as well as other more advanced features.
It should also be mentioned that URL shorteners make your tweets look uniform & elegant.

If you want people to RT your posts, RT theirs!
Retweeting is probably the most effective, least selfish way of getting noticed on twitter. Indeed, there are many successful accounts that exclusively rely on RTing for their popularity.
What it means to RT
First of all, it gets you noticed by the person who initially shared the information. Everyone wants to know their tweets are being noticed, and RTing a message is the simplest way of communicating that among all the twitter-litter a message has been seen, and deemed worthy enough to be amplified.
